About Us

Hi, and welcome to 2099 Comics .com the page devoted to 2099 comics and cool comics in general for those of you who are not familiar the “World of Tomorrow,” also known as Marvel 2099, it was the true “future” for the Marvel Universe, the saga was published in the mid-90’s by Marvel Comics Group.
A couple years ago, I was searching the web for the first time, did a search on “2099,” and to my surprise, there was only 2-3 web pages on it, with a brief mention of how cool the Marvel 2099 world really is.

It’s only comic books but the possibilities are endless! At the time, I wanted to have every single Spider-Man comic (yeah, right), but I noticed this whole new world… the future and the year… 2099… all I could say was “WOW!”
I was very impressed!

You see, the world is dominated by “Evil Corporations” that only care about money and personal profit (not much different from our actual world), the poor only have their faith that the heroes of old would come one day to rescue them… and that’s how the series started.

Spider-Man 2099 (not Peter Parker, but a man named Miguel O’Hara) is born by an accident. Miguel is transformed, thanks to the Alchemax corporation’s DNA altering device, and gains spider-like abilities. He’s followed by Doom 2099, The Punisher 2099,& Ravage 2099 (the first original 2099 character, not based on a pre-existing one), all new characters, all (again, except Ravage) with only similarities with the old characters they’re based on, from the era that they call the “Heroic Age,” which is the hero era of today…

Now with a new set of heroes, the world of 2099 is ready to rock…

The world of 2099 kept on changing. You really never knew what the creative team was going to come up with next, but you knew it was going to be fun. More and more heroes “came back,” with some familiar names, such as X-Men 2099, Hulk 2099, Fantastic Four 2099, Ghost Rider 2099, etc, and new ones where added, like Galahad 2099, Metalscream 2099, and The Public Enemy. It was an exiting time for a comic book fan, like how I think it felt for others when the original Spider-man first came out…

I was very disappointed to see all the series go, due to Marvel Comics’ financial problems at the time, and moving funds to books that would be more lucrative (like Heroes Reborn) is not a strange thing in this comic book industry, but still it makes me wonder What If…

If you stick around you will see tons of pictures, my own art, and hopefully you might want to go to your local comic book store, check the back issue bin, and see for yourself the “World Of Tomorrow:” The Marvel 2099 Universe.
